tiredpilots.ca is an independent resource that explains Canada’s flight-crew fatigue rules — CARs Subpart 700, Division III — in plain language, for the pilots who have to work to them.

Who’s behind it

I’m Thomas Paul, a working pilot (thomaspaul.ca). When I’ve spent real time researching something, I like turning what I worked out into a tool that shares it — so the next person doesn’t have to start from scratch. tiredpilots.ca is one of those.

It’s a personal project. It isn’t affiliated with Transport Canada, any air operator, any union, or any association, and it doesn’t speak for any of them.

How to use it

• The rules by topic pages give you the plain-language version first, then the current in-force wording, with a link to the verbatim text and a citation to the exact CARs subsection.
• The glossary reproduces the defined terms verbatim from CARs 101.01 and 700.01.
• The FDP calculator does the 700.28 table lookup for you and shows its working.
• The Q&A answers the questions that come up most.

Accuracy and corrections

Every substantive statement cites the CARs section it comes from, and, where guidance matters, the relevant part of Advisory Circular 700-047. The regulation text was retrieved from the Justice Laws website and each page carries the date it was last checked.
